We Handed Singapore’s Next Big Design Idea To Students, Not Studios
Everyone’s had a moment at home where they thought, “surely there’s a better way to do this”. Most people shrug it off. We asked a generation of students to actually chase that thought down.
For IKEA Singapore’s Young Designer Award, we opened the floor to young minds across the country and gave them a genuine shot at reshaping how people live at home — not as a classroom exercise, but as a real competition with real stakes.
What came back wasn’t textbook design. It was fresh, unexpected, and occasionally the kind of idea a grown-up wouldn’t have thought to try.
Because the best ideas about everyday life often come from people who haven’t been told what “normal” looks like yet.
Want a new generation genuinely thinking about your brand?
Let’s give them a problem worth chasing.

LOST SPIRIT FEST
Year-End Shopping Got A Little Wilder
Halloween. Oktoberfest. Year-end shopping.
Normally, you’d probably give each of them their own calendar invite.
We saw an opportunity to bring the energy together and give PLQ a seasonal moment with plenty of personality.
Something bold enough to catch attention. Fun enough to pull people closer. And distinctive enough to make another shopping trip feel a little less ordinary.
Because malls don’t always need another promotion. Sometimes they need a mood.
Got a season coming up? Let’s give people a reason to show up for it.
